I am an apprentice in the first year of training at Be in Magdeburg, specializing in application development. Before starting here, I had just completed my high school diploma.
My workday usually starts quite early so that I can enter my times and check emails before our daily SCRUM meeting begins. During the meeting, I report on what I did the previous day and what I plan to do today. Currently, I am part of a larger development team that is modernizing our existing software product. This involves considering various customer feedback and providing customer support from time to time. During my lunch break, I relax with my colleagues, taking a break from the daily tasks that can sometimes be quite challenging. Sometimes, through a casual lunchtime conversation, we even find a solution to a problem. After that, it’s back to the computer. There are still many exciting challenges awaiting me until the end of the workday.
What I like most about working at Be is the flexible working hours. Since I have ADHD, it particularly helps me on days when I have low energy. On those days, I can shorten my working hours and then resume my tasks with a clear mind on another day of the week. Additionally, there are many different personalities working at my location, so a workday with colleagues is never monotonous.
The culture at Be is friendly and highly professional. The collaboration within the team is particularly good; we support each other with questions and finding solutions to current problems.
